The Fayetteville Police Department on September 9 will launch a nine-week, mentor-based program geared toward preventing youth violence. Journey: A Youth Against Violence Program is open to all youth aged 12-19 in the Fayette County area. There is no cost to participants.
Participants will meet at Fayetteville Police Headquarters on Saturdays at 10 a.m. and work through issues including youth crime, laws relating to drugs, theft, and gangs, overcoming trauma, handling negative thoughts, conflict resolution, goal setting, giving back to the community, and more. Lunch will be provided.
