Covid exposure at Back to School movie night

Dear Princeton Chase Community,

We consider the health and well-being of our neighbors a priority. With that in mind, we are sending this letter for your awareness. We have been alerted that a child who was present at the Back to School grill out has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

The event was held Friday August 5th. The child did not display symptoms until Saturday August 6th and tested positive Sunday August 7th.

We are following Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. None of the household members of the child have tested positive or shown symptoms and the child is being isolated.

We are committed to facilitating safe events for our community and we have and will continue to follow CDC guidelines for everyone's safety.

Sincerely,

Princeton Chase HOA

National Macaroni & Cheese Day

A favorite for all across the country, Macaroni & Cheese has its own special day.

Kraft’s brand in its iconic box has been around since 1937 but the origins of this creamy casserole has been round for hundreds of years.  The 1st versions can be traced back to Italy where pasta and parmesan have been staples for centuries

Macaroni and cheese is international with many variations.  I remember eating it as a child with hotdogs.  In Hong Kong its common to eat it for breakfast doctored up with mushrooms and peas.

Only a few key ingredients are needed to make it and whether you enjoy it baked with a bit of crunch or extremely creamy, macaroni & cheese is loved by all ages.

June is National Iced Tea Month

Iced tea is an easy-to-make, delicious beverage that has been a part of American homes for nearly two centuries. This delicious drink is not just an excellent thirst quencher but also quite nutritious. Iced tea is often flavored with lemons, oranges, and herbs, which keeps you energized throughout the day. Since the beverage is low in caffeine, it can be enjoyed by children, too. Iced tea can be brewed at home, drunk from cans, or made instantly from an iced tea mix. Iced tea can also be frozen and enjoyed as iced tea popsicles or as a slushie. It truly is a versatile beverage!

Happy Earth Day!!

For 50 years on April 22, Earth Day has been celebrated around the globe to promote awareness for the health of our environment.   The 1st Earth Day helped create the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species acts into law.   Small actions like picking up litter in our community can make an impact and are a step in the right direction.

What should I do for Earth Day?

·         Consider volunteering for the PCHOA landscaping crew to help with maintaining the front entrance and keeping our community beautiful.

·         Eat those leftovers – Many people may not know this, but the more food we waste and do not consume, the more greenhouse gasses are emitted to transport and biodegrade the waste.  If any leftovers still remain, start composting at home.

·         Reuse and recycle.  Donate or sell some items that still have life but are no longer useful to you. The upcoming PCHOA yard sale is a perfect event to do this. Ask how you can participate.

·         Join the PCHOA Storm water committee – improperly managed storm water runoff leads to  flooding, property damage and road hazards.  It impacts us all.  Join this committee to raise awareness and help find solutions to control storm water erosion.

Spring is just around the corner!  Here are some tips to get your lawn and garden in shape.

·         Apply a layer of mulch around your newly planted shrubs, flowers, and vegetables.

·         You can plant lawn seeds now, if needed.

·         Mow your lawn at recommended heights (St. Augustine and Bahia: 3 to 4 inches; Centipede: 1.5 to 2 inches; Dwarf St. Augustine: 2.5 inches).

·         Check sprinkler systems for any issues and fix, as needed.

·         Prune trees and shrubs before the end of the dormant season.

·         Continue another planting hardy vegetable crops that mature quickly. Good choices are turnips, mustard, radishes, and spring onions.
